Natural Nutrient-Rich Ingredients
We use natural plant-based oils, butters, waxes, minerals, botanicals and essential oils. We also use some bee products in a few items. Whenever possible we choose organic or wildcrafted.
We use only “clean” ingredients—absolutely no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, artificial colors, fragrances or synthetics of any kind. Most products are vegan and gluten-free.
Millennia of herbal craft and traditional medicine informs our ingredient selection, and much of this lore is validated by modern science and the wisdom gleaned by years of practical application.
The botanicals and essential oils we use all have nourishing properties to cleanse, rejuvenate and restore balance to hair and skin.

Handcrafting our products in small batches, we are able to offer high-quality artisan goods while minimizing production waste and overhead. This means we can offer excellent, natural, ecologically-friendly body care essentials at a more accessible price.
Small batch production allows for greater quality control as well as deep care and attention put into making each individual product.
The Pleasure of Natural Aromas
Botanical aromatics is a crucial part of our formulation process and the intention behind our products —we want you to absolutely love using them.
We strive for nuanced, layered and highly pleasurable scents that do not overwhelm. Imagine the rich and complex scent of a Pacific coast forest after gentle rainfall, or a mountain-top meadow on a warm summer day.
There’s a wholesome synergy of form, function and fragrance between the ingredients in each of our products.
The scents come from the raw materials themselves—the rich nuttiness of shea butter, the subtle citrus of sea buckthorn oil, the earthy vanilla of rooibos—and are enhanced by 100% pure essential oils.
Essential oils are steam distilled or expressed from the leaves, flowers, bark, seeds and roots of plants. You will never find “natural fragrance” in Sea-O-Salt Bath Company products. Natural fragrances are isolates taken from plant material in a laboratory process. Only essential oils contain the whole essence of the plant and have genuine aromatic and wellness benefits.
Seeking Fragrance-Free?
Our Bare Bones soap has no added fragrance. The only scent you may detect comes from the pure coconut, olive, hemp and castor oils used to make the soap.
We skipped the botanicals and essential oils in this one to offer something for folks who seek fragrance-free or just want a classic bar of soap that still delivers a transcendent bathing experience.

About Our Products
Our sea salt soaps are made through cold process and contain finely ground solar evaporated ocean sea salt. Salt has a balancing, hydrating and remineralizing effect on the skin. We use powder fine salt for ultra gentle exfoliation and larger-bubbled silky lather.
The salt crystals are collected from salt ponds, carefully crushed and screened to size, and run through a proprietary cleansing process to eliminate any bits of debris (sand, shell, seaweed, clay, etc.) while leaving the raw salt in a pure, natural state.
Superfatted Cold Process Soap and Shampoo
Our cold process soaps and shampoo bars are “superfatted” meaning not all of the base oils saponify in the soapmaking process so they are available to nourish and moisturize your skin and hair.
That does not equate to being greasy or heavy! Our skin and hair thrive on natural sources of moisture and our products offer just the right balance for all hair and skin types.
We take care to cure our bars properly ensuring these cold process soaps and shampoos have fully matured and are ready for long-lasting use with lots of thick, rich cleansing lather!
Conditioner Bars for Hair and Body
Just 6 plant-based ingredients make this effective all-in-one hair conditioner and body moisturizer bar. No more plastic bottles!
Our formula is unique and the fruit of many years experience formulating natural hair and body care products.
The same bar can be used as a traditional rinse-out hair conditioner, as a leave-in conditioner for moisture rich styling, and as a full body moisturizer to smooth and hydrate skin from head-to-toe.
Applied to wet or dry hair it enhances curl and shine.
Herbal Balms
Our balms begin with a base of skin-loving oils like olive, hemp or jojoba and are enhanced with a measure of rejuvenating sea buckthorn oil. We also include beeswax for humectant and protective benefits.
Organic and wildcrafted botanicals infuse slowly into the balm base imparting their beneficial constituents. The balms are finished with pure essential oils that also contribute to their effectiveness and add a subtle dose of aromatic pleasure.
Aromatic Mood Catalyst Moisturizing Balms
Our Aromatic Mood Catalyst balms begin with a base of jojoba and beeswax and the base is finished with cetyl alchohol, a plant-derived emollient that contributes to these balms’ ultra smoothing and non-greasy feel.
These moisturizing balms are also aromatherapeutic wonders. Each one is enhanced with our unique essential oil blends to encourage calm and equanimity, or an enlivening mood boost.
Soaking Salts
Soaking in salt water has been used in traditional medicine systems around the globe for ages.
The minerals from the salts will help soften and nourish your skin while encouraging tension and pain to melt away.
Our soaking salts combine epsom salt, pure ocean sea salt and our own signature essential oil blends.
The soothing benefits of a soak are not just for full body immersion. Use a basin filled with warm water and soaking salts to soothe tired, aching hands or feet.
